Lance Baker
Introduction
Lance believes counseling is most effective when built on trust, authenticity, safety, and respect. He seeks to create a counseling environment where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they pursue healing, growth, and meaningful change. His 30 years of law enforcement experience informs his awareness of stress, trauma, responsibility, and the emotional weight often carried by first responders and others who serve under pressure. Lance values counseling as a space where honesty, strength, vulnerability, and healing can exist together.
As a student counselor, Lance is developing an integrative approach that draws from person-centered counseling, cognitive behavioral concepts, trauma-informed care, and faith-sensitive support when appropriate to the client’s values and goals. He is passionate about helping clients reduce shame, increase self-awareness, take responsibility, and develop healthier patterns in their lives and relationships.
